The Encyclopaedia plugs many gaps. We already have "The Oxford Companion to the Literature of Wales", of course.

But, where would you find potted biographies of Welsh men and women who have excelled in natural history, medicine and architecture, alongside entries on Snowdonia, emigration to Patagonia and Welsh Olympians?

The answer is that until now the material has just not been available in one place.

With over 5000 entries ranging from 50 to over 5000 words, the work is an ambitious undertaking, covering every aspect of Wales' past, the people, the places, the arts, industries, environment and traditions.
