The price is kept low to reintroduce quality books that have gone out of print for many years and make them available to the largest readership possible.The editors drew inspirations from the Joint Publishing Library series that came out to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Joint Publishing.The series emulates the Iwanami Bunko and comes in the form of pocket books.

So far over 80 books have been published.Streets and Roads in Hong Kong Island in a Century, Kowloon Streets and Roads in a Century and Streets and Roads in the New Territories in a Century are among the first to be presented in the "e;Hong Kong Classics"e; series.This series traces the development of streets and roads in Hong Kong in the past century with precious vintage photos, and gives rise to the trend of local research of Hong Kong.Upcoming books include Selected Historical Postcards of Hong Kong, Photo Album of Hong Kong and Hong Kong's Buses.

The Hong Kong Folkways series, which consists of Dajiao: Hong Kong Festivals and Regional Society, Tian Hou Cult in Hong Kong, Wong Tai Sin Cult in Hong Kong and Shengongxi in Hong Kong:Cantonese Drama as well as Chiuchow and Hokkien Dramas, etc., is also much anticipated.
