Fundamental and Applied Aspects of Animal Cell Cultivation

This work identifies the major issues relevant to the industrial application of animal cell cultivation technology, including: the choice of cell substrata; the basic understanding of the kinetics and energetics of growth of animal cells; the choice of fermentation vessel and operation; bioseparation and cell line; and plant and product safety issues. In bringing together a large amount of disparate published information in an organized manner, this volume should serve as an introduction to animal cell cultivation.

It should also produce a basis for further study into the many fundamental and applied aspects of this technology which affect its industrial application.
