Protestantism, poetry and protest: the vernacular writings of Antoine de Chandieu c.1534-1591

Antoine de Chandieu (1534-1591) was a key figure in the establishment and development of the French Protestant church.

He was also a prodigious writer of political, religious and poetical works.

This study questions many of the assumptions made about his motivations and aims, and how these developed over a 30-year period.
