The author of this book, Dr. Lalit Batra, is currently working as Consultant Psychiatrist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, SMS Medical College, Jaipur.

He has been teaching Psychiatry for more than twelve years to undergraduates and postgraduates.

He has published several research and educative articles in reputed scientific journals, newspapers and magazines.

Dr. Batra has attended several national and international conferences.

He won the P.B. Buckshy Award of Indian Psychiatric Society (North Zone) in 1991 and Marfatia Award of Indian Psychiatric Society in 1994 for the best scientific paper.

He was Secretary of Indian Psychiatric Society (Rajasthan Chapter) in year 2000-2003.

He has been working as Secretary of Indian Psychiatric Society (North Zone) since 2002.

The author has been part of "Task force on clinical practising guidelines for Psychiatrists in India" of Indian Psychiatric Society and has prepared document for clinical practising guidelines for management of depression.
