Tom and Tammy: Teacher resource guide

The "Tom and Tammy" series of five paperback books is part of the "Atmospherix" range.

This new range was specifically developed to provide reading material with high interest themes and low reading age content to meet the needs of teenage and adult reluctant readers.

The "Atmospherix" range is divided into four reading age levels.

Troposphere - RA 6-71/2; Stratosphere - 71/2-9; Thermosphere - RA 9-101/2; and, Exosphere - RA 101/2-12.In each "Atmospherix" series there are five paperbacks.

Each book is broken up into chapters and is a manageable reading load for reluctant readers.

The storyline flows from one book to the next, hooking students in and keeping them wanting to continue reading.

When all five books have been read the students have read a whole story and a reasonable amount of text painlessly.

The accompanying Teacher Book which includes guidelines and suggestions for teachers and comprehension, written language and structural activities for each book for students is included in the pack.

The "Tom and Tammy" series is written at the Troposphere level.

It has basic text which is strongly supported by graphics in a modern, zany style. The series follows the story of Tom and Tammy as they meet and develop a friendship.

Tom becomes jealous when Tammy talks to another boy and his antics to attract her attention land him in hospital.
