This series looks in detail at our oceans and at the fascinating creatures that live in, above and below the waves, Starting with a look at the forces that shape and effect our oceans, the series moves forward to look at ocean wildlife in different parts of the world, how some animals make huge journeys across them, which creatures live in the ocean depths, and courageous people who have crossed them.

People and the Sea looks at amazing sea journeys and adventures over the years.

It goes looking for shipwreck and sunken treasure, sails with pirates and plunges into the blue unknown with famous explorers, as well as examining how fishermen brave the seas today to bring us fresh food.
