This book provides a non-mathematical introduction to basic concepts and sound applications of structural equation modelling (SEM) based on the increasingly popular and innovative AMOS statistical programme.

Intended as a practical guide to the use of SEM, the author "walks" the reader through ten conceptually different applications that include confirmatory factor analytic and full latent variable models pertinent to both single and multigroup data.

Also demostrated is the maximum likelihood approach to modelling based on incomplete data, as well as to the bootstrap procedure.;Although all demonstrated applications are structured within the framework of AMOS Graphics, this book also discusses and demonstrates the programme's graphical approach to SEM, the alternative approach to AMOS Basic, using an equation format.

In particular, AMOS Basic is fully described and demonstrated with respect to the first application; for all remaining applications, one AMOS Basic input file is presented and described relevant to only one aspect of the model under study.;In general, each application in this book is accompanied by the following: a statement of the hypothesis to be tested; a schematic representation of the model under study; a full explanation bearing on related AMOS Graphics input models; a full explanation and interpretation of selected AMOS output files; one model input file based on AMOS Basic; and the published reference from which the application was drawn.
