Each explorations is keyed to specific portions of the textbook, and lists are also provided of the explorations pertaining to each part of the text.||There are actually three types of laboratory explorations in this book: ¿mini-laboratories,¿ ¿major laboratories,¿ and some suggested ¿laboratory activities.¿ The mini-laboratories are hands-on experiences and demonstrations that enable you to observe and study an event in nature, either in class or in a laboratory.

The major laboratories are designed for more in-depth exploration.
