THE PIG'S FEET MURDER AND OTHER SHORT STORIES

I used the streets of the “Monto” in this publication as a back-drop to my stories because it is an area of Dublin I am very familiar with.

Some of my older siblings were born close to this area, my parents, grandparents and great grandparents lived here also.

Two of my great grandmothers were involved in Prostitution, Brothels and Shebeens, one of them serving five years in prison for her role in a murder.

My grandfather too, was very much involved in the organisation and management of our family establishments. And so, having been introduced from my early childhood, by my parents and their extended families, through stories and photographs, into the history and lifestyle of the peoples and families from this area, I decided to place my fictional stories here.

The majority of families that came from this area in my parent’s time were, in general, very good living people.

My stories show both sides of the coin, both the good and the not so good sides of life.
