This is a survey of the field of psychological adjustment with an emphasis on values, culture and our changing world.

The text is built around topics that should be of interest to students, with the aim of giving them an understanding of how and why people act as they do, and helping them apply that understanding to everyday life, problems and concerns.

It links academic psychology to application via the liberal use of news events, exploration of one's values, and an examination of the impact of culture as it relates to adjustment.

There are self-assessment exercises and applications within each chapter.
