Shamrocks and Salsa is the memoir of a boy who realizes his dream of the Roman Catholic priesthood, discovers his Irish identity, immerses himself in social activism for California Mexican individuals and communities, falls in love, exits priesthood, marries a former nun, and raises a family in rural Northern California. About the Author: Gerald F. Cox, 92, resides in Navarro, Anderson Valley, Mendocino Country, Northern California.

He is married to Kathleen Snyder, a two year Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras.

The couple have two married daughters and five grandchildren.

Shamrocks and Salsa is his second book following The Radical Peasant, a sketch of the Rev Charles Philipps, a rural activist for family farmers in California.
