In the later years of Queen Victoria's reign, a Liverpool academic, John Sampson, discovered a family of Welsh Gypsies whose language was pretty well intact - with variations - from the original trek from India some 800 years before.

This disctionary includes those discoveries but is added to with vocabulary noted in the 1960s from an English Gypsy and from the subsequent notebooks of Robert Dawson.
