Among his awards is the 2010 Lawrence O'Shaughnessy Award for Irish Poetry (USA).His prose account of a transatlantic voyage under sail, SAILING FOR HOME, was described by Nobel Prize winner Doris Lessing as "a book for everyone." The UK poet Laureate, Carol Ann Duffy, praised his new collection of poems, GREEK, as "A vivid, sensual, technically brilliant new collection."
