Swimming Pools

For schools that have them, swimming pools offer valuable development opportunities for pupils and also a recreational facility that can be shared with the community.

However, presence of a swimming pool also entails certain responsibilities.

This guide is aimed at headteachers and governors of schools with swimming pools and offers simple guidance on topics which include: the need of appropriate training for pool managers; the importance of water quality and testing; safety in handling of chemicals; and maintenance and cleaning requirements.
