This analysis aims to summarise the views submitted on the Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture, topic 2 (d) on nutrient use and manure management, discussed during the 51st session of the Subsidiary Bodies in December 2019.

The analysis intends to make the wide range of views submitted more easily accessible to those interested, including to Parties and observers to the UNFCCC, but also experts working on climate change more generally, as well as interested members of the public.

Although Party submissions on topic 2(d) vary considerably in structure, length and degree of detail, many submissions (e.g.

Argentina, African Group of Negotiators, Brazil, European Union, Japan, Kenya, Senegal, Sri Lanka and the United States of America) highlight the importance of increasing efforts to create resilient and sustainable agriculture systems.

Moreover, most of the Party submissions highlight the importance of sharing experiences, opportunities and challenges in improving nutrient use and manure management.
