Cecil Forsyth's "Twilight Night" is a musical composition using the words from Christina Rossetti's poem by the same name as lyrics.

Christina Georgina Rossetti (1830 - 1894) was an English poet famous for her romantic, devotional, and children's poems.

Her most celebrated works are "Goblin Market" and "Remember", and she was also responsible for the words of the Christmas carols "In the Bleak Midwinter" and "Love Came Down at Christmas".

Cecil Forsyth (1870 - 1941) was an English composer and musicologist.

He played the viola in various orchestras after attending the University of Edinburgh and Royal College of Music, where he studied together with Hubert Parry and Charles Villiers Stanford.

He is best remembered for his operas "Westward Ho!" and "Cinderella", as well as the choral ballad "Tinker, Tailor".

This volume will be of particular interest to those who enjoy classical music and poetry, and it would make for a fantastic addition to collections of allied literature.

Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive.

We are republishing this volume now in a modern, high-quality edition complete with a specially commissioned new introduction and biography of the composer.
