Konrad von Würzburg's 'Trojan War' pioneered a new pathway for vernacular mythography at the end of the 13^thcentury. For the first time, this study systematically explores the poetic processes that effected this epistemic transformation in the narrative of myth. The author develops a model for analyzing the literary production of knowledge that is at once open to historicizing approaches and useful for general research about knowledge.
