Human beings are, by their very nature, fragile. The slightest bump to the wrong place in a bone, or eating, or drinking the smallest amount of something that you're not supposed to, can lead to months of recovery, or even death.

But what if it didn't? What if a broken bone or failed organ could simply be replaced like so much a broken plate?

Well, in Prosthesis, they can and are. Amputating an arm or a leg and replacing it with an advanced prosthetic is simply a part of life.

You go to the hospital, get your limb cut off and replaced, and you're back to your normal life within the week.

Some might say that it's impossible. But humanity has achieved the impossible before. In the year 2055, it might seem like everything is perfect. And in a lot of ways, it is. But for Devon Fitzgerald, life is far from perfect. He doesn't have a bad life, mind you, he just doesn't have a lot of people that he can count on, not even the one person who he should always be able to.

But when his mother sustains a seemingly mild injury that leads to her death, he has to rapidly adapt to an entirely new living situation.

High school is hard enough without your life being flipped upside-down, even in a time where the human body can be whatever you want it to.
