President Biden demanded a thorough inquiry and stated that "hate-filled domestic terrorism" would not be tolerated. A manifesto was left behind by the 18-year-old white shooter, who pleaded not guilty.
The gunman, identified as an 18-year-old white guy from outside the city, was allegedly motivated by racism, according to authorities. Hours after the incident, he appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges.
In a mass shooting at a Buffalo grocery store, ten people were murdered and three more were injured.
BUFFALO - In one of the bloodiest racist murders in recent American history, an adolescent shooter enthralled by the white supremacist doctrine known as replacement theory opened fire at a Buffalo supermarket on Saturday, killing ten people and wounding three more, virtually all of whom were Black.
Payton S. Gendron, 18, of Conklin, a tiny hamlet in New York's remote Southern Tier, was identified as the shooter by officials. Mr. Gendron traveled almost 200 miles to carry out his attack, which he also live-streamed, according to the police, in a disturbing video broadcast that appeared to promote his dark objective.
