This high-drama history book describes Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech, the events leading up to it and the impact it had.The book considers the significant role that Martin Luther King played in the Civil Rights Movement in 1960s America and the legacy of his struggle for equal rights for black Americans.

It looks at the lead up to his famous "I Have a Dream" speech, in which he described his dream of black and white people co-existing in racial harmony.

The book then dramatically describes the day it took place, during the march on Washington on the 28th of August 1963, and continues with King's story until his assassination in 1968.
