Anancy stories were brought to Jamaica by the Ashanti people who passsed them from generation to generation. Brother Anancy is a symbolic testament of resistance by Jamaica's African forefathers who, resisted physical, mental, emotional and cultural enslavement by, at first, the Spanish, followed by the English. The protagonist of these stories takes the form of a cunning spider who examines relationships between the powerful and powerless. The stories are the cornerstone of Jamaican culture.

In this text, Brother Anancy visits England's House of Commons at Westminster, London. He finds himself embroiled in the Brexit Crisis of early 2019. The stories cover a plethora of themes, from elderly abuse to AIDS, as well as, other pressing post-modernist issues.
