Picture Price Guide - UK Art Market

This reference is a summary of prices of approximately 27,000 paintings and sculptures, by 10,000 artists from a range of periods, sold at public auction in the United Kingdom during 1994.

The guide shows for each individual artist: nationality, dates and "artist's price index"; lowest, median and highest prices of oil paintings, watercolours/drawings and sculptures; and the total value and number of works sold.

New to this edition is the indexation of an artist's average price, together with year of first entry in ArtQuest.

ArtQuest is an on-line service to the Art Sales Index Database of 1,500,000 sale results from 30,000 auction catalogues from 1970 (updated daily, accessible 24 hours a day and 7 days per week).
