This book examines the work of two influential English philosophers and theologians of the 14th century - Ockham and Wyclif.

The chapters reflect the current concern with the editing of Ockham's writings, his career and political work, his influence on the later philosophy of Oxford and his relation to other Oxford writers of the 14th century.

The discussion of Wyclif represents a re-assessment of the chronology and significance of his writings, and the major topics of his theology and philosophy.

The book contains an analysis of the different contacts between the thought of Ockham and that of Wyclif, and concludes with an assessment of the spread of Wyclif's thought, from the 14th to the 16th century, and from England to Bohemia.
