This playscript closely follows the original "Oxford Reading Tree" story on which it is based.

Designed to develop both speaking and reading skills, it offers practice in role-playing and shared participation.

Each play in the series has a maximum of 8 speaking parts but more children can become involved with sound effects and non-speaking roles.

Longer and shorter parts are indicated in a casting note for the teacher.
