Higher Education Portfolio 2003

The "Higher Education Portfolio 2003" is a collection of three of Palgrave Macmillan's education titles, two in print and one CD-ROM: "The Grants Register", the "International Handbook of Universities", 17th edition, and the "World Higher Education Database 2003/4". "The Grants Register" is an authoritative and comprehensive guide available to postgraduate grants and professional funding worldwide.

For over 20 years it has been the leading source for information on the availability of, and eligibility for, postgraduate and professional awards.

It contains details of over 3500 awards and each entry has been verified by the awarding bodies concerned in order to ensure that the information is accurate. The "International Handbook of Universities" 17th edition is a guide to over 8000 higher education institutions in over 180 countries.

Listed details for each institution include: name (local and English) and full postal address; telephone, fax, e-mail, telegraphic numbers and websites; all faculties, colleges, schools, institutes and departments within the institutions with staff and student numbers and fields of study offered; brief historical background; Information on academic year, admission requirements and tuition fees; degrees and diplomas offered at each level of study; student services, special facilities (for example, museums) and publications; size and breakdown of academic staff; student enrolment figures including foreign students; and principal academic and administrative officers with their own contact details. The "World Higher Education Database 2003/4" is a comprehensive reference tool for the field of higher education world-wide.

It combines the databases of the IAU's "International Handbook of Universities and the "World List of Universities and Other Institutions of Higher Education", all completely cross-referenced on one fully searchable CD-ROM, plus additional material such as profiles of higher education in each country.
