The life of eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes is still a fascinating subject, as the success of recent film }The Aviator{ shows.

In the 1970s, when Hughes approached the end of his life, biographer Clifford Irving wrote this life story, supposedly with Hughes co-operation.

It soon transpired it was a hoax, and Clifford went to prison.
