Death Penalty Report is the first novel concerned with death penalty in contemporary China.

Through the analysis of several death penalty cases in a place called "e;Luo City"e;, the author makes a deep reflection on the death penalty system in contemporary China, and probes into the death penalty for the first time in a literary way.

In a sense, writer Pan Jun is discussing the subject of law in the form of literature, but it still has a valuable exploration in terms of novel texts.

The novel begins with the perspective of female police officer Liu Qing, journalist Chen Hui and lawyer Li Zhiyang and the thing parallels with it is the trial of the American Simpson case, which was called the century trial many years ago.

So interwoven forms two kinds of judicial system and penalty concept contrast, at the same time, we have to reflect on the concept of constant punishment and the application of today's death penalty.
