At one point, their friendship becomes more intimate than they'd imagine.

The young woman regrets it but doesn't stop there. She calls the young man's actions "unwarranted," says she felt "slightly violated."The young man, who genuinely likes her, doesn't understand.

He starts worrying about his future. His only hope is the young woman's compassion or common sense to avoid the worst.
