Die Sudkirche, am Hang oberhalb der Esslinger Pliensau-Vorstadt gelegen, ist sicher das kunsthistorisch interessanteste Bauwerk der Stadt aus dem 20.

Jahrhundert. Als stadtebauliches Gegenstuck zur gotischen Frauenkirche auf der gegenuberliegenden Seite des Neckartals wurde sie von Martin Elsaesser entworfen und 1925/26 errichtet.
