The Fifth International Congress on Mental Health took place at the University of Toronto, Canada, August 14-21, 1954 under the auspices of the World Federation for Mental Health.

It was attended by citizens and scientists from the six continents and from fifty-five countries; the total registration was 1,950.

These delegates came from all the major constructive institutions and activities in present-day society, and from all scientific disciplines devoted to the study of man and his affairs.
