Channel 4's "Seeing Geography" CD-ROMs feature the best TV clips from Channel 4's archive of geography programmes for primary schools.

Using this disc, pupils will learn how their own daily lives and experiences relate to the wider world.

Terms such as 'abroad', 'overseas' and 'international' often have little meaning - because these places are far away, they do not affect life in their own town or village.

Learning more about some of these places will help pupils counter sometimes one-sided and stereotypical preconceptions about distant locations.

The topics covered are: Jamaica - Where is it?, Kingston, Port Antonio, Bananas, Tourism, Bauxite, In the rainforest, On the coast; India: Where is it?, City life, City jobs, The movies, Handicrafts, Leisure time, Village life, Getting around; Sri Lanka: Where is it?, Kandy, Colombo, Farming, A new town, Tea, Elephants, and Turtles.

With each completed topic, the pupils can become a Jamaican taxi driver avoiding the banana trees and rocks in their path, using their newly acquired knowledge to help them collect bananas, sugar.
