Making Flexibility Work

"Flexibility" is one of the buzzwords of the age, as it dominates discussions around employment, much as it did productivity 50 years ago.

This pamphlet seeks to show how a more sophisticated concept of flexibility offers opportunities and threats for both management and workers.

The authors call for a partnership approach, involving employees and their representatives at an early stage.

For them, this is a European issue, and one which is crucial to the future prosperity of the EU.

Recognising this, they set out an EU Felxibility Charter through which flexibility can be made to work.
