Contrails over the Mojave: the golden age of jet flight testing at Edwards Air Force Base

Marrett started the Air Force Test Pilot School at Edwards AFB in 1964, when US high speed flight development was in its golden era.

After graduation he served a further three years at Edwards, where he took part in numerous research projects that often called for extraordinary flying skills.
