The cover photo of this year's annual is of Sally Pearson, the Australian high hurdler who made the comeback of the year when she won the world 100m hurdles title at the London World Championships.

She had won gold at the 2011 World Championships and then in the 2012 London Olympics.

But two serious injuries had denied her any more medals until her 2017 triumph.
