When people have one of these disorders, many of the impulses they might normally be able to control become so strong that they may seem irresistible.

Often, this is because of neurological or chemical abnormalities in the brain; for these people, their urges truly are irresistible, and these urges happen to them frequently, not just occasionally.

They're not "bad" people - but their impulses can get them into big trouble!
