When Maggie and her brothers, Scot and little Onion, arrive at 'Greenbottle', the house of their Uncle Atticus, inventor of the impossible and highly unlikely, they could not have dreamed of the adventure to come.

Sentenced to marry the unimaginably awful 'Maxine' at the end of the summer, their downbeaten dad, Walter, seems lost in a distant and unreachable trance! And, unknown to them, a hundred miles away, where the lazy River Pod empties into the sea, something strange and deadly is coming ashore and making its way towards them!
