Archie MacDonald (Alastair MacKenzie) is running a restaurant in London with his girlfriend when he receives word from his home in the Scottish Highlands that his father Hector (Richard Briers) has taken ill.

Upon discovering that the family estate is in dire trouble, he decides to stay on and faces a series of obstacles as he attempts to find a way out of debt and restore his childhood home.
