This study examined the mediating role of perceived restorativeness, attentional demands, and capacity to direct attention in the relationship between naturalness and quality of life.

Path analysis was used to test a hypothesized model of this relationship among 287 adults.

Results indicate that naturalness has a significant total effect on quality of life and this relationship is mediated through perceived restorativeness and capacity to direct attention.

Naturalness was significant correlated to perceived restorativeness and capacity to direct attention, but not attentional demands.

These findings suggest that higher levels of naturalness in one's environment are related to greater ratings on quality of life.
