Mastering vowels

"Mastering Vowels" is a varied, activity-based photocopiable resource that offers a broad range of practise activities for teaching students a sound-to-symbol system for recognising and sounding vowels; an important core as a base for decoding unknown words as well as for spelling.

Written and developed over many years of teaching, this programme was developed specifically for working with slow-to-progress readers and students whose first language is not English in a class or group situation.

The mix of teaching strategies, games and worksheets offers a strong support base for the teacher to build from.
