The Dynamics of Innovative Regions : The GREMI Approach

See all formats and editions

This volume originates from the 4th cycle of GREMI (Groupe de Recherche Europeen sur les Milineux Innovateurs) research, which focused on territorial innovative processes and competitive advantages of the complex socio-economic fabric of milieux innovateurs.

The contents are articulated in three parts. Firstly, the editors deal with the multi-faceted dimension of local development, placing particular emphasis on the role of territory in producing/reproducing learning processes, tacit/codified knowledge storage, and government structures.

Secondly, the volume gathers together different case studies, and their theoretical systemization, which were carried out with the same methodology in six different European countries.

Finally, part three is devoted to a more general view on the structural adjustment dynamics of innovative milieux, and raises useful questions of strategy and policy.
