The second of four volumes in a series which illustrates the origins, polities, theologies, worship and socio-political aspects of the several nonconformist traditions.

Each text is introduced with biographical, contextual and bibliographical material.

The aim of the series is to allow readers insight into the various nonconformist traditions in England and Wales from the mid-16th century to the present day.

The texts include: Acts of Parliament; confessions; theological debates within and between the nonconforming traditions; sermons; liturgies; and prayers and hymns.
