Salem Aotuo's parents were slaughtered by Atina Parev. Salem Aotuo is owed a debt, and she aims to collect. In The Domino Children, six pariahs with latent and deadly powers team up to con and kill a political powerhouse known as The Wolf Queen.

Over six years ago, Salem's parents were killed in a house-fire that left her family dead and her disfigured but alive. Today, she has a list of names:

Kioh Taa, a philanthropic ganglord who can steal anything, and won't hesitate to do it.

Kabet Oreh, a foreign renegade whose powers could be mistaken for a god's.

Jaz Westfen, an orphan whose ability got his best friend killed.

These six outcasts, self-named The Domino Children, make a trek through the mountains to Duskra's capital, Canak. Pursued by the queen of Shka's personal forces every step of the way, a deadly game of cat and mouse begins. Or, rather, cat and cat. Unfathomable amounts of money and their own lives on the line, The Domino Children aim to con and kill the most powerful person in the world. The question is, will they survive while doing so? Do they even want to?
