Friction

This CD-ROM for whiteboard use is an electronic version of "Friction" from the hugely successful "Step-Up Science" series.

Friction is a force between two surfaces that touch.

It helps us to do many of the things we do every day, such as eating, writing and walking.

This title shows how the amount of friction present is affected by different factors and how it can either be useful or a problem.

It investigates how we can increase or decrease friction, for example in the world of sport, where reducing air or water resistance can mean the difference between winning and losing.
