Deputy Sheriff Wes Monroe's job was tough, for the sheriff was off sick and a thief was robbing businesses in town.

To make matters worse, Jack Thompson, an ex-deputy, was coming back.

Thompson had seen sweet on Sue Walton, now Monroe's girl, and it was rumoured he had been offered the sheriff's job ahead of Monroe, who was expecting promotion.

When Thompson showed up all hell broke loose, for he was working with the Hanna gang, who planned to rob the bank.
