Theoretical Fundamentals of Atmospheric Optics

The book deals with theoretical fundamentals of atmospheric optics, as a science of propagation, transformation and generation in the atmosphere of electromagnetic radiation from the ultraviolet to microwave range of the spectrum.

The main characteristics of the planets of the solar system and their atmospheres are given.

Special attention is given to the transfer equations of radiation in different spectrum ranges, absorption of radiation by atmospheric gases and aerosol, molecular, aerosol and other types of non-resonant scattering, atmospheric refraction, reflection of radiation from the surface, glow of the atmosphere.

Problems of radiation energetics and remote probing of the atmosphere are also discussed.
