Based on Beve Hornsby's "Alpha to Omega", this book contains 30 lessons which focus on two areas: blending sounds together to read words ina systematic way and learning the spelling rules of the English language, again, through a phonic approach.

It is structured so that each new lesson both reinforces the previous knowledge taught, while only introducing a few new sounds at a time.

Lesson one begins with only five sounds and the word "the".

The teaching relies on dictating both the words and sentences and using an alphabet set or alphabet cards, which can be made.
