Health Physics provides an understanding of the physics involved in certain systems in the body and in medicine.

It explains the energy requirements of the body and describes the physics of sight and of hearing.

The latter half of the book shows how physics is involved in creating images for diagnosis and treatment, including the uses of ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, lasers, X-rays and gamma rays.

The book concludes with a chapter on radiation monitoring.
