When young Jim Hawkins finds the key to Captain Flint's chest, he must outwit the dead Captain's collaborators if he is to keep the treasure map in it for himself.

Only his two companions, Squire Trelawney and Dr Livesey, share Jim's secret and the three decide to set off on a seafaring adventure.

Assembling a company of 'tough old salts' for their crew, including the one-legged sailor Long John Silver and his followers, they must overcome piracy, bloodshed and mutiny before the island is within reach.
