ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to explore career maturity related to emotional intelligence and cognitive differentiation, gender. This study explored how dimensions of emotional intelligence viz., understanding emotion, understanding motivation, empathy, handling relation. Crites model of career maturity (1973) and emotional intelligence model by Bar-on and Goleman (1997) and cognitive differentiation theory by Kellye's (1995) were used to examine this study. Data was collected using stratified random sampling technique from different Oraon tribes of Surguja and Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh. Students from Adolescents students to govt school of Surguja and Jashpur district Chhattisgarh. All 400 sample were included in the present study. Hierarchical multiple regression and moderation analysis were used to summarize and test the proposed hypotheses. Result of the study indicated that, those students who emotionally mature to perceive lees occupational information. Students who have high cognitive differentiation to perceive high career maturity. Finding reveal all the four dimensions of emotional intelligence viz., understanding emotion, understanding motivation, empathy and handling relation emerged as significant predictor of career maturity. In moderation analysis emotional intelligence on the link between cognitive differentiation and career maturity. Whereas rest of emotional intelligence as emerged as significant moderator on the link between cognitive differentiation and career maturity. It is concluded that there is relevant empirical and statistical evidence of the prediction, moderation effect on career maturity among Oraon tribes' adolescents' students of Chhattisgarh State. The finding of the present research work helps in understanding of the role of emotional intelligence, cognitive differentiation and gender on career maturity within Oraon tribes' students.
